The Lexus CT hatchback has been dead for a while in North America, but it’s still alive and well in Europe.
Just a month after entering the Yacht business, Lexus is now trying its hands at shoe-making. The company has unveiled a new line of sneakers that are inspired by the CT 200h F Sport.
Created by UK shoe manufacturer Walsh, the peculiar unisex sneakers are wrapped in bright red perforated leather and black suede with contrast red stitching that echoes the red and black interior option for the CT 200h F Sport. They also feature a Lexus leather tab on one set of laces.
Lexus celebrated the launch of the new shoes by wrapping the exterior of a special CT F Sport in the new trainer’s design, complete with signature Union Flag detail that’s found on Walsh products.
The limited edition Lexus sneakers are priced at £165, and you can get a pair here.
Lexus LC Convertible Concept Previews Stylish Drop-Top Roadster
The rumors about the LC 500 getting a droptop version were true after all.
Lexus has revealed the LC Convertible Concept, which likely previews an upcoming open-top roadster and hints at a shift in the LC’s design language.
Presented as a roadster, the LC Convertible Concept is designed to express “ultimate beauty” and serve as an aspirational halo vehicle for the entire Lexus lineup. Its proportions are nearly identical to the LC Coupe but stands out with a steeply-raked windshield and a contoured trunk lid.
“This concept takes the unmistakable design of the LC coupe and reimagines it as a future convertible,” said Tadao Mori, chief designer of the LC Convertible concept. “It blends all the best aspects of the original coupe with the dynamic design of an open-air convertible.”
The interior features white leather trim, contrasted by yellow accent stitching to break up an otherwise monochrome look.

Lexus’s High-Performance Models Will Be Hybrid-Powered
Toyota’s luxury brand is betting on electrification for better performance.
Lexus has confirmed that “performance hybrids” would form the cornerstone of the brand over the next 10 years.
In an interview with Cars Guide at the unveiling of the UX crossover, Lexus International executive vice-president Chika Kako revealed that hybrid technology will be used to squeeze out more power.
“I think everybody’s preconception of the hybrid with Lexus has always been about fuel efficiency, but as we move forward we would like to add more value to that and have more focus and emphasis on the sportiness and dynamics that the hybrid technology can offer,” he sated.
Kako-san also confirmed that Lexus would even consider a high-performance F-stamped version of its SUVs, notably the UX, if there was strong enough demand.
This isn’t the first time that we’re hearing about a hybrid powertrain for its high-performance F models. Earlier in 2018, company president Yoshihiro Sawa hinted at a hybrid GT model.
