New Corvette ZR1 Makes 755HP! Fastest, Most Powerful Chevy Yet

New Chevy Corvette ZR1

There C7 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is finally here, and it will blow the hood off almost every supercar ever made. It’s the fastest, most powerful Corvette yet!

Expectedly, the latest ZR1 shares much of its hardware with the but kicks things up a notch by offering more power, better handling and more overall refinement. Breathing under its hood is a supercharged LT5 V8 that pumps out a whopping 755 horsepower and 715 pound-feet of torque, making it not only the most powerful Corvette ever, but also the most powerful vehicle to roll off Chevy’s assembly line.

A seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission — your choice — channels all that power to the rear wheels, allowing the Corvette ZR1 to sprint to 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standstill in approximately 2.8 seconds on route to a top speed of over 210 mph (338 km/h)! That’s puts it in the highly coveted 2 second and 200 mph clubs, which includes the Bugatti Chirron and other world-class exotics.

The Corvette Z06 launched with overheating issues; to spare the ZR1 that fate, engineers equipped a new intercooler and supercharger system, a redesigned nose, a hood opening that channels air to the intercooler, and 13 heat exchangers.

Two aero packages are available to help improve handling, both integrated into the chassis and working in unison with a new front underwing. The first delivers the highest top speed, featuring a low wing that helps generate up to 70 percent more downforce than the Z06’s base aero package.

The second is a two-way-adjustable High Wing that delivers maximum downforce on the track for the quickest lap times, offering 60 percent more downforce than the Z06 with the Z07 Performance Package.

Functional design elements aside, the new Corvette ZR1 introduces a new Sebring Orange Design Package that gives the exterior a Sebring Orange Tintcoat complimented by orange stripes on the rocker panels and splitter, and orange brake calipers. It spruces up the interior with orange and bronze aluminum trim.

Sales of the all-new, 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 start in spring 2018 with a price tag of over $100,000. It will undoubtedly put all other supercars on notice.

Chevy Camaro Gets New Face And Butt, Plus Turbo 1LE Model For 2019 MY

Updated, 2019 Chevy Camaro new look

The sixth-generation Chevy Camaro has received a refresh for its 2019 model year in an effort to narrow the sales gap with the Ford Mustang, gaining a revised exterior, a new 1LE Turbo model, a new 10-speed automatic transmission, and improved gadgets.

Starting off with the exterior, designers have revised the front end to be distinct between the LS/LT, RS and SS variants. The SS stands out with a ‘flowtie’ open bowtie grille emblem and larger air curtains, package-specific headlights, and a new extractor-style hood, while the RS appearance package includes a unique polished black grille with Galvano Chrome lower inserts, an LED signature bar, and 20-inch wheels. The RS, SS and ZL1 models get dark-tinted lenses.

All models now feature classic-design, four LED oval taillights, which I think looks better than the generic rectangle shape of the original design.

Inside, the updated Camaro gets Chevy’s next-generation Infotainment 3 system. The standard system uses a 7-inch touchscreen, while a larger 8-inch touchscreen is optional. A Rear Camera Mirror and Forward Collision Alert system are now available.

The biggest news is the introduction of Camaro Turbo 1LE, which joins the V6 1LE, SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE models in the Camaro lineup. It is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that — paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission — produces 275-hp and 295 lb-ft. of torque.

An upgraded suspension, staggered 20-inch summer tires, Brembo brakes, and a Driver Mode Selector with Sport Mode and new Track mode are also part of the package.

So, what do you think about the Camaro’s new face and butt? Did Chevy’s designers get them right?

Refreshed, 2019 Chevy Cruze Gets More ‘Upscale’ Look

2019 Chevrolet Cruze

General Motors has introduced the restyled 2019 Chevrolet Cruze, which brings a more upscale appearance to the compact car segment. Are the changes enough to improve falling sales?

The updates are not major, with the most noteworthy being a redesigned grille that keeps the Cruze looking fresh in the shrinking yet competitive segment. Opting for the top Premiere trim also gets you new taillights with LED accents.

John Cafaro, executive director, Global Chevrolet Design, stated:

“Cruze’s refreshed styling gives Cruze a more upscale look while maintaining its Chevrolet design DNA.”

Other updates include a standard 7-inch infotainment system, new alloy wheels, and automatic climate control on LT and Premiere models and revised trim elements for the sportier RS model.

The 2019 Chevy Cruze is available with either a 1.4L turbo or 1.6L turbo-diesel engine. A six-speed manual transmission is no longer offered.
