As if a Ferrari supercar wasn’t an exclusive and special enough to have in your garage, Ferrari has just prepared a one-off 458 Italia for one lucky, filthy rich British customer.
Designed by the Ferrari Styling Center and based on the 458 Speciale, the so-called 458 MM Speciale debuted at Fiorano, where Ferrari chief test driver Dario Benuzzi and the unnamed Brit ran laps. It is powered by a naturally-aspirated V8 — good for 605 horsepower and 399 lb-ft. of torque — mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
It is distinguished from the regular 458 Speciale by modified aluminum body with specially-molded front and rear fascias constructed out of carbon fiber, blacked-out A-pillars that create a visor look, and a body painted in a shade of white called Bianco Italia, accented by center-running stripes in the colors of the Italian flags.
There is also a new side air scoop, new air intakes, a tasteful real spoiler, and spiffy wheels with a custom cluster pattern.
Not only is the new bodywork visually-pleasing, but it’s also functional, improving the cooling for the Italian supercar’s engine and transmission. The radiators are mounted at different angles and also aid cooling.
Inside, the 458 MM Speciale features Cioccolato leather with white stitching, an upgraded audio system, and controls accented with satin white rings.
The looks great inside and out, and the lucky owner has good taste. What changes would you make to your dream car if you were offered one?
Ferrari Will Have Mostly Hybrid Cars By 2022
There are big changes taking place at Maranello. Shocking changes. ⚡
More details have been revealed about the ‘fundamental shift’ in Ferrari’s platform architecture, particularly towards hybrid powertrains.
During a presentation of the Ferrari’s future product roadmap, CEO Louis Camilleri said nearly 60 percent of the company’s models will have hybrid powertrains by 2022, not only as way to meet regulatory requirements but also to “satisfy customer desires for significantly improved emissions while retaining the driving emotions that render Ferraris simply unique.”
The Maranello-based automaker isn’t new to hybrid technology, having utilized it to great effect with the LaFerrari and FXX K.
All of its projects will include hybrids starting in 2019.
In related news, Lamborghini is also going hybrid-electric, announcing plans to electrify its V10 and V12 engines for its next-generation supercars.
Ferrari’s First SUV Is Called “Purosangue”, It’s Coming In 2022
Just don’t call it an SUV…
Having confirmed the development of its first-ever SUV, Ferrari has now given a name to it — Purosangue, which means thoroughbred in Italian — an a release date of sometime in late 2022.
The company doesn’t want you to refer the Purosangue as an SUV, however, believing that utilities vehicles, at least as they are traditionally viewed by the general public, doesn’t jive with its performance pedigree.
“That word, I do not want to hear it in the same phrase as Ferrari,” CEO Louis Carey Camilleri, stated during a presentation of Ferrari’s future product roadmap.
Not much is known about the Ferrari Purosangue at this point, but it will be based on Ferrari’s new Front- and Mid-Engine Architecture, with a front-mounted engine and a rear mounted dual-clutch transmission. It will be offered with a hybrid powertrain in addition to a conventional internal combustion engine.
A sleek coupe-like design is expected, with though the SUV will be smaller than the Lamborghini Urus. It will be “elegant, powerful, versatile, comfortable, spacious… in all respects worthy of the Ferrari badge,” Camilleri added.

Ferrari 488 Pista Spider Speeds After Topless Huracan Performante
Ferrari used the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to unveil its 50th drop-top model, the Ferrari 488 Pista Spider.
Tasked with taking on the Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder and McLaren 720S Spider, the topless Italian supercar is a track-oriented performance machine powered by an evolution of the twin-turbocharged, 3.9-liter V8 engine found in the 488 GTB, producing as much as 720 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 567 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm.
The engine has been named Best Engine in the world for the third consecutive year at the 2018 International Engine of the Year Awards and is in fact the most powerful eight-cylinder powerplant Ferrari has ever used on a street-legal car.
Engineers compensated for some of the added weight of the unique folding roof — at 3036 lbs (1377 kg), the car is roughly 200 lbs (91 kg) heavier than the coupe — by using lightweight carbon-fiber throughout the interior, going as far as to even replace the carpets with patterned aluminum foot plates and the driver’s-side door handle by a simple strap.
They seem to have done a good job. With a time of 2.88 seconds, the Spider is just as quick to 62-mph (100 km/h) from a standstill as the coupe but 0.4 seconds slower 124 mph (200 km/h). It can reach a top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h).
Visually, the 488 Pista Spider dons a livery with a central stripe that’s suppose to echo airflow. It rides on 20-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels inspired by the wheels on some of the firm’s classic models, but buyers can opt for one-piece carbon fiber wheels that are 20 percent lighter at an extra cost.
