The all-new, 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has received its first major variant — the performance-tuned AMG E43.
Positioned between the regular E-Class and the even more capable E63, the 4,145-pound E43 is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that cranks out 396 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 384 lb-ft. (520 Newton meters) of torque from 2,500 to 5,000 rpm.
All that power is divided between the four wheel via a sports-tuned, rear-biased (31:69) version of Mercedes-Benz’s 4MATIC system, allowing the German sports sedan to catapult from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds and on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Only a nine-speed automatic transmission is offered, and it can be left in drive or controlled by shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. The brakes are bigger than on the E-Class and are complimented by a more direct steering system and an air suspension with three modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus).
Visually, the E43 makes a statement with an AMG-specific grille accented by chromed pins, a new bumper with three air dams, side skirts, a new rear diffuser, and a chrome-plated quad-tipped exhaust system. It rolls on 19-inch five-spoke AMG wheels with a high-gloss black finish, though 20-inch wheels featuring a two-tone finish are also available.
Major highlights inside include sport seats, red seat belts and red contrast stitching throughout.

2020 Cadillac CT5 Has Very Low Price For A Luxury Sedan
The CT5 hopes to undercut its German competition with a very low price and a lot of standard features.
Cadillac has announced pricing details for the all-new Cadillac CT5, and the car costs a lot less than we expected.
The CT5 replaces the CTS as the brand’s new midsize luxury sedan. Three trim levels will be available for the 2020 model year: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport.
With a starting price of $37,890 in the United States, the CT5 Luxury is significantly less expensive than the CTS and much more affordable than the base Mercedes-Benz E-Class ($54 000), BMW 5 Series ($54,395), and Audi A6. The CT5 Premium Luxury and Sport start at $41,690 and $42,690, respectively.
All three trims come standard with a rear-wheel drive setup and a 237 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four mated to a 10-speed automatic. Driver-assist systems such as forward collision alert and automatic emergency braking being are also standard, as are a 10-inch touch screen and keyless push-button start.
By comparison, the 2019 CTS’ price starts at $46,995 — nearly $10,000 higher — and comes with less standard equipment.
All-wheel drive is a $2,600 option on the Luxury and Sport trims, but $3,090 on the the Premium Luxury. Going for the CT5 Premium Luxury gets you some nice features like leather seats over the base Luxury model, while the Sport trim adds performance brakes and sporty appearance bits.
The Cadillac CT5 has big shoes to fill as the successor to CTS, the nameplate that arguably brought the Cadillac brand into the modern era. But as good as the CTS was, it didn’t sell well.
With a dirt cheap starting price and wide array of standard features, the CT5 appears to primed to more successfully steal sales from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. Only time will tell if Cadillac’s pricing strategy achieves the desired results.
Lincoln Navigator Gets More Tech, Three Monochromatic Packages For 2020
Buyers gets more standard tech and safety features, more luxury, and more style.
Lincoln has announced several updates for the 2020 Lincoln Navigator, most conspicuous of which are three new Monochromatic packages.
Exclusive to the Navigator Reserve trim level, the Monochromatic Package are available in three colors — Pristine White, Ceramic Pearl and Infinite Black — and, according to Lincoln, “reflect the minimalistic color trend popular in fashion and home décor, where variations of a single hue result in a smooth yet vibrant color scheme that’s easy on the eyes.”
The company has also updated the large SUV with the same ‘Phone As A Key’ technology as the Aviator, allowing owners to lock and unlock, open the liftgate , start the car with nothing more than their smartphone. ‘Phone As A Key’ is standard on all models, as are power running boards, heated and ventilated front-row seats, and a wireless charging pad that help deliver a more luxurious experience.
On the safety front, all Navigator models come standard with the Lincoln Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assist technologies, which includes auto high beams, blind spot detection, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning and pedestrian detection.
Sales of the 2020 Lincoln Navigator begin in November 2020.
Bentley EXP 100 GT Is An Ultra Luxury Electric Car For The Future
The British automaker celebrates its centianial with an excellent demonstration of extravagance.
Bentley turned 100 years old in 2019, and as part of it’s birthday celebration, unveiled a stunning electric car concept that looks to the future.
The EXP 100 GT concept is a vision of a Grand Tourer for 2035. It rides on an all-electric platform, provides a choice between fully autonomous operation and human-piloted driving, and features a flexible interior with three different seating configurations.
At 19-feet long and 7.8-feet wide, and with a curb weight of 4,188 pounds (1890 kg), the EXP 100 GT is a very large coupe with great visual presence. Designers blended proportions of Bentley’s historic grand tourers and futuristic elements to craft a GT car “for the world of 2035.” You will definitely notice the massive illuminated grille (it’s comprised of 6,000 LEDs) and round, beveled headlights.
The interior is flush with sustainable yet luxurious materials such as 5,000-year-old copper-infused riverwood, British farmed wool carpets, and embroidered cotton surfaces.
Power for the EXP 100 GT comes from four electric motors that can easily accelerate its large heft from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 2.5 seconds on route to a top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h). The battery pack delivers an estimated driving range of 435 miles (700 km) and can be recharged up to 80 percent capacity in only 15 minutes.
Since the EXP 100 GT is a vision of the future, autonomous driving technology is a centerpiece of it’s design. Drivers will have five self driving modes to choose from: Enhance, Cocoon, Capture, Re-Live and Customize.
