With the Bentley Bentayga being the fastest, most powerful and luxurious SUV, you can imagine a lot of work went into making it a reality. Bentley has released a promotional video that provides a glimpse into just how intensive the Bentayga’s development was.
The company’s designers and engineers started off with pencil sketches of the uber luxurious SUV before transitioning to carved clay sculptures and digital renderings. The concept was worked on for several years before finally making it to production.
Unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Bentayga has a polarizing design that has many car enthusiasts talking, but we get the felling Bentley will have little to know problem selling each one they make.
The first unit required 130 hours to assemble by hand, with work including the stitching of leather, sanding of wood panels and installation of mechanical components. Watch the video for the full highlights…
As the world’s most luxurious and powerful SUV, the Bentayga is powered by a 6.0-liter W12 engine that produces 600 horsepower and 663 lb-ft. (900 Nm) of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just four seconds.
All that opulence won’t come cheap, however, with each model costing at least $229,100 in the United States. Do you want one?
