For its 2016 model year, the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 gains a few updates that make it a more user-friendly and fuel-cent efficient supercar on the road. You know, the sorts of things no one normally expects from a Lamborghini…
For starters, the naturally-aspirated 5.2L V10 that powers the Huracan has been fitted with cylinder deactivation, allowing one cylinder bank to be deactivated in certain driving conditions to improve fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions.
The 2016 Huracan also benefits from a new STRADA mode that makes it easier for the driver to push the car to its limits. The system modifies the all-wheel drive system instantaneously to provide a more neutral handling and “improved driving behavior.”
Buyers now have more optional features to choose from, including a high-end Sensonum audio system, a sports-tuned exhaust system and LED engine bay lighting. Should they want to customize the Huracan even further, Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program offers a wide selection of interior personalization elements and custom colors for the exterior.
Ford Mustang Bullitt Returns For 2019
The Ford Mustang Bullitt is back! Ford unveiled the latest iteration of its special-edition muscle car at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic movie “Bullitt”.
The Bullit has been an occasional entry in the Mustang lineup since 2001, with all sporting the Dark Highland Green of the original movie car. In the case of the new Mustang Bullitt, that beautiful exterior color (you can also get in ‘Shadow Black’) is set off by a badgeless grille, retro 19-inch gloss black torque thrust wheels, and red brake calipers.
Inside, there are a number of unique touches befitting its status as a special edition vehicle, including a 12-inch digital screen that displays a unique Bullitt welcome graphic of the car rather than the pony and a white cue ball shift knob that pays homage to the original. Just think the equipment you get in a GT Premium but a tad bit cooler.
Power is provided by an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 that produces least 475 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. Paired to a manual transmission, it delivers a top speed of 163 mph, which is an 8 mph increase over the Mustang GT.
Components from the Mustang GT’s Performance Package such as MagneRide suspension and Brembo brakes come standard, as do Recaro seats.
The special-edition 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt goes on sale in summer 2018 with a manual transmission.
Cadillac Announces ATS-V and CTS-V Championship Editions
Cadillac has introduced new Championship Editions of the Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V to celebrate the company’s win of the 2017 IMSA Manufacturer, Driver, Team and Endurance Championships.
Both commemorative ATS-V and CTS-V are available in Black Raven or Crystal White with Cadillac V-Performance graphics on the hood and rear spoiler and come with Red Obsession side-view mirror caps, a DPi-V.R graphic on the quarter windows, Red Brembo brake calipers and forged polish-finished alloy V-Series wheels with Midnight Silver painted pockets.
A Morello Red detail package gives their interiors Jet Black Recaro seats, red front and rear door armrests and Morello accented high gloss carbon fiber interior trim.
The 2018 Cadillac Championship Edition ATS-V starts at $72,190 for the sedan and $74,390 for the coupe, while the 2018 CTS-V Championship Edition sedan starts at $105,730.
Porsche Making Gas-Electric 911 To Take On New Tesla Roadster?
Likely caught off guard by the ridiculously bonkers performance of the new Tesla Roadster electric sports car, Porsche is now working on a gas-electric Porsche 911 after previously shelving plans for such a model.
Tesla’s new Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under 2 seconds (1.9 secs, to be precise) and to 100 mph (161 km/h) in only 4.2 seconds, a level of performance unmatched by any production car to date, not even the mighty, 1,479 horsepower Bugatti Chiron. Production begins in 2020.
According to , the Porsche 911 Hybrid will be introduced a few years after the next-generation 911 arrives in 2019, meaning it could it hit the market around the same time the Tesla Roadster does.
As a hybrid, the 911 won’t be a fully electric vehicle like the Roadster, with Porsche targeting an electric driving range around 40 miles compared to the Tesla’s 620-mile range.
Porsche has yet to confirm development of the car, but a spokesman confirmed to Bloomberg that the next 911 allows integration of an electric powertrain. The German automaker was even reported to be looking at solid-state battery technology for future electrified versions of the 911 and Boxster.
