New Chevrolet Tahoe large SUV

Russians love their large vehicles almost as much as Americans, so it’s no wonder that the 2014 Moscow Motor Show marked the European premier of the all-new, completely redesigned Chevrolet Tahoe. The large SUV brings to Russia all of its American charm, but gains a few modifications suited to the region.

The European Tahoe is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine not offered on the American variant and features unique design changes that have resulted in superior aerodynamics and reduced cabin noise.

In addition to offering a full suite of modern luxury amenities, the redesigned Tahoe is equipped with a host of safety features, including Seat Safety Alert (seats vibrate to warn the driver of dangerous situations), adaptive cruise control with brake assist, blind spot detection, electronic stability control (ESC), and a rear-view camera.

Demand for SUVs in Russia is red hot, with sales increasing by almost 200 percent since 2009. Set to go on sale in the first half of 2015, the new Chevrolet Tahoe is just one of several new SUVs and crossovers GM will release in the country.

Chevy Camaro Gets New Face And Butt, Plus Turbo 1LE Model For 2019 MY

Updated, 2019 Chevy Camaro new look

The sixth-generation Chevy Camaro has received a refresh for its 2019 model year in an effort to narrow the sales gap with the Ford Mustang, gaining a revised exterior, a new 1LE Turbo model, a new 10-speed automatic transmission, and improved gadgets.

Starting off with the exterior, designers have revised the front end to be distinct between the LS/LT, RS and SS variants. The SS stands out with a ‘flowtie’ open bowtie grille emblem and larger air curtains, package-specific headlights, and a new extractor-style hood, while the RS appearance package includes a unique polished black grille with Galvano Chrome lower inserts, an LED signature bar, and 20-inch wheels. The RS, SS and ZL1 models get dark-tinted lenses.

All models now feature classic-design, four LED oval taillights, which I think looks better than the generic rectangle shape of the original design.

Inside, the updated Camaro gets Chevy’s next-generation Infotainment 3 system. The standard system uses a 7-inch touchscreen, while a larger 8-inch touchscreen is optional. A Rear Camera Mirror and Forward Collision Alert system are now available.

The biggest news is the introduction of Camaro Turbo 1LE, which joins the V6 1LE, SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE models in the Camaro lineup. It is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that — paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission — produces 275-hp and 295 lb-ft. of torque.

An upgraded suspension, staggered 20-inch summer tires, Brembo brakes, and a Driver Mode Selector with Sport Mode and new Track mode are also part of the package.

So, what do you think about the Camaro’s new face and butt? Did Chevy’s designers get them right?

2019 Chevrolet Spark Update

Yes, General Motors still sells the diminutive Chevrolet Spark, a car we haven’t heard much of in a very long time. Not only is it still around, but Chevy’s mini-car has also gotten more attractive and safer for its 2019 model year.

The affordable Spark receives several updates for its 2019 model year, including a new front fascia with more chrome accent and available projector-style headlights and LED daytime running lights. New duel-element taillights can be found at the rear.

To help prevent that prettier face from being smashed-up, the 2019 Spark is available with Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking that’s claimed to be a first for the segment. The system is part of of the available Driver Confidence Package, which also includes forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning.

All Spark models are powered by a 98 horsepower, 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to either a continuously variable transmission or manual gearbox. Four different trim levels are available — all coming standard with air conditioning and a rear-vision camera system — including the Activ with its 10mm raised ride height and “crossover-inspired” design cues like body cladding.

2019 Chevrolet Cruze

General Motors has introduced the restyled 2019 Chevrolet Cruze, which brings a more upscale appearance to the compact car segment. Are the changes enough to improve falling sales?

The updates are not major, with the most noteworthy being a redesigned grille that keeps the Cruze looking fresh in the shrinking yet competitive segment. Opting for the top Premiere trim also gets you new taillights with LED accents.

John Cafaro, executive director, Global Chevrolet Design, stated:

“Cruze’s refreshed styling gives Cruze a more upscale look while maintaining its Chevrolet design DNA.”

Other updates include a standard 7-inch infotainment system, new alloy wheels, and automatic climate control on LT and Premiere models and revised trim elements for the sportier RS model.

The 2019 Chevy Cruze is available with either a 1.4L turbo or 1.6L turbo-diesel engine. A six-speed manual transmission is no longer offered.
