It’s official – the Acura ZDX is no longer a concept car and will join the coupe-like crossover market where the BMW X6 dominates. As expected, the production ZDX didn’t stray too far from the concept in terms of overall design. The only notable changes are the headlights, tail lamps and a few subtle details in the front fascia.
Buyers of the 2010 Acura ZDX could choose from three trim levels. The highest level offers the “Advance Package”, which promises ‘ultra premium’ features and accommodations. The middle trim comes with the “Technology Package”. And then there is the base ZDX, which is not as skimpy on features as you might think. All trim levels will come with a high level of standard equipment including Bluetooth, XM satellite radio, iPod integration and a panoramic glass roof.
The ZDX will be powered by the same 300-hp 3.7-liter V6 found in the RL and TL. The engine will be mated to an all-new, 6-speed automatic transmission that drives all four-wheels through Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system.
The ZDX will go on sale in winter of this year. Prices have not been announced, but Acura says the ZDX will slot between the MDX and RL when it hits the market.

Hotter Acura NSX Type R With 650 HP Is Speeding Your Way
In addition to the extra power and unique styling touches, expect suspension and brake upgrades.
Acura is reportedly working on a higher performance NSX adorned with the Type R badge.
The Acura NSX Type R will benefit from a long list of performance upgrades to should allow it to better compete with the McLaren 570S and other rivals, not the least of which is an increase in total output from 573 to 650 horsepower.
According to Forbes, Acura’s flagship supercar will also have a stiffer suspension, steering enhancements, bigger carbon-ceramic brakes, unique carbon aerodynamic elements, and interior enhancements.
The improvements should drive pricing above $200,000 — a premium of at least $40,000 over the basic NSX.

Is The Acura Legend Coming Back?
The NSX supercar probably won’t be the only Acura legend to make a comeback.
Acura has trademarked the “Legend” name in Europe as spotted by AutoGuide, and we’re not quite sure what to make of it.
For starters, Acura doesn’t compete in the European market at all and, secondly, it hasn’t had much success with its sedans in the markets it does compete in. Could the company just be protecting one of its best-known nameplates?
The 90s where a time when Honda’s premium brand was on top of its game, and the Legend was the best it had to offer. The flagship sedan was discontinued in 1995 and replace by the RL, which was eventually replaced by the RLX.
If Acura is indeed planning the Legend’s return, replacing the unpopular RLX with a sedan-like model bearing its name could have a positive impact on sales. Or the model might not even be a sedan…
The streets have changed a lot in the 20 years since the Legend departed. Sedans have lost favor with buyers and SUVs are all the rage, so there is a possibility that the Legend could return as a utility vehicle of some sort… maybe an SUV coupe along the lines of the BMW X6 to compliment the successful MDX and RDX.

2019 Acura ILX Targets Millenials With Bold Face, More Tech
Acura’s small luxury sedan hopes to attract Millenials with a bold new face and new tech.
While we wait for an all-new Acura ILX to arrive, Acura has given its entry-level model a refresh for its 2019 model year.
The biggest change can be seen at the front, where the 2019 ILX sports the the brand’s new Diamond Pentagon grille. In fact, the car is all-new from the A-pillars forward, with design revisions also including a more sculpted hood, the Acura Jewel Eye LED headlights and a more aggressive front bumper.
The aggressive look extends to the rear fascia, where one sees new LED taillights and a new lower diffuser. A set of new standard 17-inch wheels top things off.
For those who want their ILX to stand out even more, the ILX A-Spec adds dark chrome trim to the front grille and lower fascia, LED fog lights, darkened headlights and taillights, a gloss-black decklid spoiler, and Shark Gray 18-inch wheels.
The interior of the ILX A-Spec is distinguished by a graphite-silver dash accent with chrome insert, an A-Spec badged steering wheel with contrast stitching, aluminum sport pedals, and Ebony or Red leather with black Ultrasuede center panels.
It addition to the styling upgrades, the 2019 Acura ILX also introduces tech features like the AcuraWatch driver assistance technology and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Power continues to be provided by a 201-hp 2.4L four-cylinder engine that’s paired with an eight-speed dual clutch transmission.
Acura is targeting Millenials with the updated ILX, pointing out that the car has one of the highest in-segment take rates among that demo. Sales being in October 2018.
