Are you one of those easily mesmerized by starry nights? Do you also happen to be a millionaire? If you answered yes to both questions, then the Rolls-Royce Phantom Celestial might just be for you.
According to Rolls-Royce, three out of four customers of the Phantom and Ghost models customize their car with at least one bespoke element. Announced at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the one-off Phantom Celestial features a nifty headliner that evokes night sky. I find it irresistible.
Not only does the Phantom Celestial offer a few customers more ways to customize their rides, but it also celebrates the 10th anniversary of Rolls-Royce’s acquisition by the BMW Group. In fact, the ‘Starlight Headliner’ shows an exact map of what the heavens looked like over the company’s headquarters in Goodwood, England, at the time — January 1st, 2003 — the sign off was made.
“The constellations, exactly as they were at midnight on that historic evening are represented by over a thousand fibre optic lights hand-woven into the Celestial Phantom’s headlining,” the British automaker stated in a statement.
Aside from the starry headliner, the Phantom Celestial is distinguished by a unique paint job, an uplit Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, and alloy wheels with special engraving at the center.
New 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Is Glorious, Most Powerful 911 Ever
The new 991.2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS has finally been unveiled, having made its world debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is the fastest, most powerful Porsche 911 ever.
Porsche was able to boost the output of its 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat six engine — borrowed from the latest 911 Turbo S — to 700 horsepower (up 80-hp) and 553 pound-feet thanks to the use of larger turbochargers and a water injection system that helps reduce intake charge temperatures at high boost pressures.
All that power is delivered to the tarmac through the company’s 7-speed dual-clutch PDK gear box and wide 325/30 ZR 21 tires. It’s rear-wheel drive unlike its 911 Turbo cousins.
The 911’s body panels have been revised to reduce weight and improve downforce, not forgetting the massive rear wing that characterizes the model.
With more overall output than the previous-generation GT2 RS and a wet curb weight of just 3,241 pounds (1,470 kg), the new GT2 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.7 seconds – places it in the same league as a LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Bugatti Chiron — and hit a 211 mph (340 km/h) top speed. Stopping power is provided by standard ceramic composite brakes.
There is an available Weissach package that adds carbon fiber anti-roll bars and magnesium wheels, both helping cut weight by a further 40 pounds (30kg).
Porsche has opened the order book for the new 991.2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, which has a starting price of $294,250 in the United States and £207,506 in the UK. The optional Weissach package can be had for an extra $31,000 and £21,042, respectively.

All-New, 2019 Porsche Cayenne Arrives Lighter, Faster, Nimbler and Techier
The third-generation Porsche Cayenne has finally been unveiled, representing a great improvement over the high-performance family SUV that forever changed the face of the German automaker.
Remember when Porsche only made sports cars? Well, the first-gen Cayenne made that a thing of the past, skyrocketing the brand’s sales through the roof. The new Cayenne rides on the Volkswagen Group’s MLB platform — also used by other vehicles like the Audi Q5 and Q7 — and, as a result, is nearly 150 pounds lighter than its predecessor.
Motivating the lighter, leaner and meaner chassis is a 3-liter V6 that churns out 340 horsepower and 332lb-ft of torque, allowing the 2019 Cayenne to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.9 seconds.
Buyers looking for even more performance have the option of the Cayenne S, which boasts a 2.9L twin-turbo rated at 440 horsepower and 406lb-ft, and needs just 4.9 seconds to hit 60 mph.
All-wheel-drive is standard across the board, and an available Sport Chrono package can make both models faster in acceleration.
Not only is the new Cayenne faster than ever, but it’s also better at stopping, thanks to the world-exclusive application of Porsche’s new braking technology. The new tungsten-carbide-coated brake rotors are said to increase friction yet reduce wear and dust. The Porsche Surface Coated Brakes package is optional.
On the handling front, the new Cayenne can be equipped with rear-axle steering that improves vehicle dynamics and that supposedly makes it more like the Porsche 911 than ever. The system is automatically disabled at highway speeds to increase stability.
The all-new, 2019 Porsche Cayenne has a starting price of $66,750 in the United States, while the Cayenne S kicks off at $83,950 (both include destination). European sales begin in late 2017, while North American sales start in mid-2018.

New Bentley Continental GT Brings More Power, Technology, Class
There is an all-new Bentley Continental GT and it looks and feels as expensive as it should, offering those wealthy enough to afford one more power, technology and class than ever before.
Described as a redesign of the “definitive Grand Tourer”, the third-generation Continental GT features a more sculpted body with sharper definition than its predecessor, clearly drawing inspiration from the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car. Bentley’s designs gave the ultra-lux sports coupe an all-aluminum body and shaped it using a hot-forming process that was previously used only for smaller components.
Powering the 2019 Continental GT is Bentley’s W12 TSI engine, which has been thoroughly retuned to produce 626 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that allows for faster and more efficient gear changes.
A more capable powertrain combined with a body that’s more than 175 pounds lighter means the Continental GT can now launch from zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 207 mph.
To improve handling, Bentley’s engineers moved the engine rearward and the front wheels forward for a longer wheelbase that contributes to better weight distribution, and employed the company’s next-generation Dynamic Ride technology, which uses 48-volt actuators to actively counter body roll at each axle, for a stiffer chassis.
Other suspension changes make the care her in comfort modes and sportier in sport modes.
Like everything else, the interior has been elevated, boasting among many other premium features a now fully-digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen that rotates from behind the dash veneer, new 20-way adjustable seats with cooling, heating and massage functions, and acoustic glass that cuts outside noise by nine decibels. Bentley stated:
“We are the world leader in luxury mobility and our products and services define new luxury in the automotive world. The new Continental GT encapsulates our desire to innovate as well as celebrate our heritage and take the Bentley ownership experience to the next, unparalleled level.”
Pricing has yet to be announced, but the new Bentley Continental will be very expensive. It arrives in 2018.
