After revealing the Euro-bound Luxgen5 sedan, Taiwan-based Luxgen Motors has revealed an SUV for the European market. Called the Luxgen7, the model was first introduced in Taiwan back in 2010 and has become one of the most popular SUVs in the country.
The Luxgen7 seats five people and features a luxurious, highly stylized interior complete with an infotainment system, leather seats, a rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control and nine airbags.
Under the hood is a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 175-hp. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels or to all four wheels, depending on the configuration selected.
To mark the Russian debut of the SUV at the Moscow Motor Show, Luxgen has developed a version specific to the country. The Russian models get a more robust alternator, more viscous oil and a stronger battery to handle the cold winters.
Outside of Russia, the Luxgen7 will be offered alongside the Luxgen5 in several Western European countries.
Production Cadillac ELR Revealed
General Motors has revealed the production Cadillac ELR, and it doesn’t disappoint. Stylistically true to the Converj concept, the range-extended hybrid looks as attractive as I imagined it would. The interior, which adopts Cadillac’s latest design DNA, is also pleasing to the eye.
The ELR shares the ‘s Voltec plug-in hybrid powertrain, which combines an electric motor with a gasoline-engine that acts as a generator to extend the driving range should the T-shaped lithium-ion battery pack dry up.
