As a work of art, the Pagani Huayra is powered by a Mercedes-Benz AMG 6.0L twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 700 horsepower and a maximum 740 lb-ft of torque. When mated to a 7-speed sequential cross transmission with AMT robotic system driving programs, the 2,970 pound Huayra is capable of hitting a top speed of 230 mph. For those with deep pockets, prices start at $1.35 million. Make the jump for the test drive.
Clash of the Titans! LaFerrari vs Porsche 918 vs McLaren P1 vs Bugatti Veyron vs Pagani Huayra
You’d think it would happen more often, but it’s very rare that we get to see the “holy trinity” of hybrid hypercars — the LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 — pitted against the ‘old-schoolers’, particularly the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and Pagani Huayra. Fortunately, car enthusiast Salomondrin somehow managed to get hold of all five performance machines and put together an impressive three-part comparison that ought to make Top Gear and Motor Trend jealous.
Seriously, for something developed by a group of amateurs, the video is very well-produced.
It’s worth pointing out that Salomondrin is filthy rich and likely owns one or two of the hypercars, while the rest were borrowed from his similarly filthy rich friends. Even so, his team has given car fanatics like ourselves what we’ve been clamoring for — a clash of the titans! The LaFerrari vs Porsche 918 vs McLaren P1 vs Bugatti Veyron Super Sport vs Pagani Huayra all-out brawl!
Watch all three parts of the comparo and share your thoughts on the results. Which hypercar did you expect to win, and did anything surprise you?
15 Year-Old Boy Gets Pagani Huayra for Birthday. Lucky Kid
When I turned 15, no one got me anything remotely close to a car, let alone an exotic supercar costing more than $1 million. No, I was nowhere as lucky as that one kid who received a brand-new Pagani Huayra for his birthday. And yes, I am pouting, because life just isn’t fair!
The kid I speak of is a 15-year-old boy from the city of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, who was gifted a stunning yellow Pagani Huayra for his birthday, possibly making him the youngest Pagani owner in the world. In fact, his Huayra is the first ever to be ordered from Taiwan.
You must be thinking, “15 years old and driving? That must not be legal.” Yup, it isn’t, which is why the car will reportedly be delivered to the boy and then transferred back to Italy until he gets his driver’s license.
Damn, what a lucky kid. Have you ever been gifted a car for your birthday?
Pagani Zonda Revolucion, the Last Zonda, Details and Pictures
The end for the Pagani Zonda is here. This chapter of Pagani’s journey to build the best supercar in the world will be closed with a special edition model — the Pagani Zonda Revolucion!
The Zonda Revolucion is effectively the last Zonda; to heighten its exclusiveness, production will be limited to just five units.
Constructed mostly from carbon fiber, this very special Zonda tips the scale at just 1,070 kg (2,359 lbs)! And powering that lightweight body is a 6.0L V12 that produces a whopping 800 horsepower and 550 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. The engine is linked to a fast-shifting six-speed sequential gearbox.
Although performance figures were not released, Pagani says the Zonda Revolucion is “the fastest Pagani vehicle ever,” faster around the Nürburgring Nordschleife than even the Zonda R, which itself is designated the fastest non-road homologated car.
Of course, such a feat was accomplished with more than just brute force. In addition to its powerful engine, the Zonda Revolucion also features a number of aerodynamic updates, including new deflectors on the front bonnet and vertical stabilizer mounted on the rear bonnet. A Bosch traction control system with 12 different settings, a revamped ABS system, and updates to the suspension and brakes help make mince meat out of the curviest of tracks.
One of kind, the Pagani Zonda Revolucion commands a hefty price tag of around $2.8 million, more than a Bugatti Veyron. Not that there will be any problems selling the five example. The Zonda has proven itself to be a legendary supercar, so you can bet that we will pay tribute to it.
